Boris Sandler, violin, was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in the U.S.S.R. Both of his parents were violinists with Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra and Sandler began playing violin at age 7. During the next four years he performed regularly as a soloist for school concerts and major events throughout the state of Georgia (U.S.S.R.). Sandler was first prize winner at the State Competition for young performers at age 16 and played Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky and Mozart violin concertos with the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra.

Sandler moved to the United States with his family in 1979 and began studies with Dorothy Delay at the Juilliard School under full scholarship. He also received a full scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and studied with Glenn Dicterow. He has performed as a substitute violinist with the New York Philharmonic as well as other orchestras throughout New York. Sandler has been a member of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001.
