Kevin Mauldin, Principal Bass

Kevin G. Mauldin, principal bass, earned a B.M. degree from Memphis State University and a M.M. degree from Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Mauldin, a native of Memphis, studied bass with John Chiego and Frank Proto. He has taught at summer festivals throughout his career, including the Brevard Music Festival from 1994 until 2004 and the Hot Springs Music Festival since 2007. He is on the Artist Faculty at the University of Miami where he has taught since 2000.
Mauldin finds time to play jazz with some of the local jazz artists. He also enjoys repairing instruments and rehairing bows for string instruments. Mauldin can be seen playing in the rhythm section of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra when jazz or blues artists are featured with the orchestra. He has been a member of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra since 1990.
