Orchestra Performances This Month

Aaron McCalla, principal tuba, studied at Southern Methodist University, the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory. Before coming to the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, McCalla held the position of principal tuba for the Colorado (Denver) Symphony Orchestra. In addition, McCalla has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Boston, Albany, Vermont, Rhode Island, Jacksonville symphonies and toured with the Boston Pops. McCalla was a Tanglewood Music Center Tuba Fellow in 2005.

Recently McCalla performed a concert on NPR in St. Louis with members of the St. Louis Symphony. The concert was featured on the program From the Garden, a live concert series presenting national and international artists from the Missouri Botanical Garden.

McCalla spent the past summer performing with his rock band, Los Estados Banditos. They played to packed houses in Central America.
